For beginners, piano is one of the most beneficial instruments to start on.  Even if just used as a stepping stone to other instruments, the physical layout of the keyboard provides the beginner with a view of the notes, ordered by pitch, enabling scales and chords to be visualized and their relationship to each other to be recognized.  Whether you'd like to play your favorite songs, learn how to improvise, or just gain a tool for writing songs, our experienced piano teachers can help you along!

So you want to play in a band.  Or, you already play in a band but are feeling stagnant.  Maybe you don’t have the chops to play what you hear or what you want to play.  Or, you never got those drum rudiments together.  Perhaps you’re in the school band and need help with the mallet instruments or you want to move up to first chair and improve your NYSSMA score.  Or you play rock, but want some jazz chops to improve your jamming capabilities, or you want to know how to incorporate stickings and linear playing into your funk feels.  Do you wish your left foot could play the hi-hat as well as it can play the left bass drum pedal (or vice-versa)?  Whatever your goal, our experienced drum teachers can assist you in obtaining it!

So you're in the school band and you want to move up to first chair and improve your NYSSMA score.  Or you have to send in a recording to supplement your college application, and need to prepare a specific piece of music.  Perhaps you're an adult who played in your younger years and would like to pick it up again, and even get good enough to play some local gigs with a band.  Maybe you know how to read, but don’t have a clue when it comes to soloing over chord changes.  Does your embouchure need work?  Your reading chops?  Whatever your goal, our experienced brass and woodwind teachers can assist you in obtaining it!  We offer lessons on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, french horn, tuba, as well as recorder, bugle among other instruments.
