Violin, Viola and Cello Lessons at Blue Sky Music Studios
So you're in the school orchestra and you want to move up to first chair and improve your NYSSMA score. Or you have to send in a recording to supplement your college application, and need to prepare a specific piece of music. Perhaps you're an adult who played in your younger years and would like to pick it up again, or you’d like to try your hand at playing fiddle style in a bluegrass or Celtic band. Maybe you know how to read, but don’t have a clue when it comes to soloing and improvisation. Does your bowing need work? Your reading chops? Whatever your goal, our experienced string teachers can assist you in obtaining it!
Any Age, Any Level!
Our string instructors enjoy sharing their knowledge with others! Whether a beginner learning how to bow their first note, an advanced student trying to get to that next level or an adult just revisiting an old passion, we’re here to help you along. We teach children as young as 4 years old right up to retired adults.
Learn to Play the Styles that YOU Enjoy!
Would you like to someday be able to read and perform Mendelssohn Violin Concerto E Minor OP.64, or do you just want to play the melodies of your favorite pop tunes? What about learning how to play country fiddle on Tennessee Waltz or even virtuous fusion fiddle like that of Allen Sloan of the Dregs? Of course everyone has to learn the basics such as finger positioning, bowing technique, intonation and reading, but wouldn’t it benefit you to be working toward the goal of playing music that you enjoy? Our violin, viola and cello instructors will work with you to get you where you want to go, focusing on giving you both a solid foundation and applying what you learn to the style of music that you prefer and enjoy.
