James

Guitar, Bass, Ukulele

A guitarist and bassist with 25 years of performance and education experience playing Rock, Funk, Blues, Indie, Hardcore, Metal, Emo, Jazz, Bluegrass, Country, Latin, Soul, and Experimental/Ambient/Noise, James spent the early 2000s touring the East Coast and Midwest in the then-growing punk/hardcore/emo scene, as well as taking any pickup/fill-in gigs available, playing every basement, pool hall, bar,
VFW, concert hall, festival, theater, and venue possible, often opening for national acts.

In between his time touring and recording, James hosted and led the house band at the storied Monopole in Plattsburgh, NY for several years. By 2009 he relocated to Brooklyn and joined the then-flourishing experimental/avant-garde improvisational music scene.

James’ main goal as an educator is to guide each student along their own unique musical path so they can discover what inspires them to play and grow. He employs a song-based, student-led approach to learning an instrument, using the music they love to teach them the techniques they need to achieve their own personal musical goals.
