Lucy
Lucy grew up listening to Woody Guthrie and Robert Johnson with her parents, who fostered her love of music from an early age. Pursuing classical violin, she found a new appreciation for folk music at Berklee College of Music, where she graduated with a degree in Violin Performance and a minor in American Roots.
As a teacher, Lucy aims to find repertoire that resonates with her students, and that allows them to incorporate technique with their individual voice as a musician. She has toured and performed with a number of songwriters and groups across the US, including Berklee World Strings, the Kronos Quartet, and the Brule County Bad Boys, a country band based in the capital region. Lucy has also performed and taught at a number of venues and festivals in the Northeast including Club Passim, Caffe Lena, Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, and the Grey Fox Bluegrass and Freshgrass festivals. As a benefactor of community-based music organizations in her native San Francisco, she is happy to be giving back as an instructor at Blue Sky Music Studios.
