Brian
Brian Mangini Started traditional piano lessons at the age of 8. In his teens he started to study Jazz and play piano, organ and keyboards in Rock and Jazz bands. He studied Studio Music and Jazz at the University of Miami, and later Music Education at the College of Saint Rose.
During the 90's he played with notable band "Ominous Seapods". Recording 5 CD's, 2 of which were on a major independent label and one on a Major label and going on 7 national tours. In 2000, that band ended and Brian settled down and started a family, to whom he is still dedicated to today. After being a music gear salesman for a few years, he decided to start teaching piano and keyboards, and has been dedicated to being a progressive teacher for the past 14 years. Combining the technique and structure of traditional piano lessons with the love of modern rock, pop, jazz and blues, his desire is for his students, ranging from ages 5 to 70, to eventually play music that they enjoy listening to. In addition to teaching, he also continues to play professionally on a regular basis both as a soloist and with such notable local bands as "Raisinhead", "The Dead Beats", "River Junction", "Becca and the Tallboys" and many more.
