Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Mandolin

Bernie started playing guitar in 1964, enthralled with Chuck Berry and The Beatles. An on-going love of the 6 string instrument lead to teen years playing with The Chord a Roys, and during young adulthood playing with Charlie Smith, FatnBad, Jodie Shayne, and various show and dance bands playing regionally.

He has shared the stage with The Stomplistics, The Riverboat Jazz Band, Doc Scanlon's Rhythm Boys, Johnny Rabb, Franklin Micare, Arthur Conley, Frankie Laine, Peter Tork & Bobby Hart, Johnny Copeland, Walter Wolfman Washington, Johnny Winter and more. Guitar study has consisted of private study with Mark Suozzo, Steve Khan and Ted Dunbar, as well as master classes with many European and American guitar masters such as Gonzolo Bergara, Joscho Stephan and Stephane Wrembel. More recently he has been involved with production and film scoring, having had 2 film projects, The Neighborhood That Disappeared and Echoes with film maker Mary Paley in rotation on regional PBS. Bernie has instructed and mentored literally hundreds of guitar students in the Albany/ Delmar/ Colonie area since the late '70s.
